(ooc = This leans heavily on something I wrote a long time ago however it works as a small introduction for the character)

We open on a long brick hallway barely lit enough by three swinging lights to see where it leads. The farther towards the end, the stronger the musky and moldy smell gets causing you to gag slightly. At the end of the hallway, there's a heavy steel door. The door comes open and leads to an underground gambling ring. Numerous tables are set up. Every table overflowing with players coming to bet big and win big. Going past the tables, we find new recruit Steve Matthews sitting at a table near the back of the room.

Matthews : I love poker. So relaxing yet so intense. The thrill of winning a big pot, the agony of losing your ass on a bad beat. I don't particularly care for the big casinos. Ever since the commercialisation of poker, you've got every doctor, lawyer and professor coming out of the woodwork pretending they are poker players because they spent a few hours playing online each week. Too much inexperience. Reminds me a lot of the carnage roster really. Carnage resembles an inexperienced poker player. Betting all of its money on a dead hand because it looks strong in the beginning. Eagerly hoping that they'll make that Straight on the river. Only one card left in the entire deck that can bring them to victory yet they just keep on raising and re-raising. Before you know it, the stacks gone and your left with nothing, but the feeling of disgust and regret that you bet so much on a hand that never had a chance to pan out.
Steve turns back towards his poker table to take a look at his hand revealing an Ace/10 off-suit. Matthews puts the cards back down and places a hefty bet.
Matthews: A lot of the wrestlers here are those dead hands. Wrestlers who looked strong off the draw, but in the end, all those hands...those wrestlers leave you empty handed and wondering how something that looked so good, turned out so bad. It kinda sickens me to see what is roaming the locker room. What I see is a big group of under talented, unenviable posers who don’t have careers. Just look at some of the chumps you have running around here today. In a few years, carnage will be booming. We will have the best competition in the world. And I shall stand above them all. But now, carnage is overrun with hicks, and face painted freaks. So why in years will it be booming you ask, because Steve Matthews is a name all the very best want to pit there wits against. So with me being signed on a long term deal they will have to become carnage contracted wrestlers for that to happen, therefore my mere presence here is going to make the standard of all-round competition that much greater.
Matthews turns back to his table and flips over his cards revealing a Straight to the Ace. His competition groans and throws their cards down in disgust and Steve reaches across the table and pulls the large pot of money into his pile.
Matthews : That's how it's done boys. You see that. That's what happens when you play a good hand. None of these guys played the good hand, carnage management often play the bad hands and fold the good, but when they pushed the contract my way, they made the right call; they finally played the very best… I am the pocket Ace’s they were always dreaming of. In the long term I am here to take what everyman wants. The top title. Whether I have to go through a hardcore hick, a punk kid that thinks he's a badass because he claims to have grown up on the streets of L.A., or some bimbo in the back that sucked her way to the big time. It doesn't matter. No one will keep me from what is going to be rightfully mine. The Championships will be mine and carnage as a whole will have no choice but to accept I am the very best there is.
Matthews stands up from the table and begins placing all of his chips into the plastic trays. The other players try to urge him to stay and play more, hoping for another shot at winning their money back, but Matthews ignores their comments. Steve takes the money from his cashed in chips and slowly walks out of the room letting the heavy steel door slam shut. He continues down the hallway trying to mask the smell of mold with his hand. The end of the hallway leads to another door. He opens the door and is met with the warmth and sunshine of the sun. Steve removes is hand from his mouth and takes in a few breaths of fresh air.
Matthews : You are all gonna need some amazing luck and something that resembles divine intervention to cope with what I plan on bringing to the table. Now there are two things you need to know from day one... My name is Steve Matthews and I am better than you!!
Steve places a roll of cash into his inside coat pocket and walks away.
