She turns the treadmill up even higher. Not here. Not now. She couldn't help but to smirk a little, hopefully keeping it hidden under her accelerated breathing. Witty retorts shoot through her mind and she has to dismiss them just as quickly. Why? She struggles to remind herself that it's not worth it. The real truth? She actually liked him.
"You can always... ask me anything... if you care enough... about the answer."
The faster her feet moved, the more she could restrain her thoughts.
"Personal is just... the way I... what I mean to... say is... you know what?"
Maggie sighs, slamming her fist down onto the button that stops the treadmill cold. She turns to face the Broken and raises her eyebrow.
"Mr. Leon here is an artist," she explains between gasps. "Maybe he can explain me to you better than I can."
Silvio glances between the two during the exchange.
Well, this is escalating quickly.
At Jenova's suggestion, he blinks quizzically before favoring her with a sheepish look.
"I mean, I'd want some cards before I'd start in on any explanations," Silvio says with a wink. Shrugging, with a crooked smile he continues, "Anyway, I think a work of art speaks with its own voice. I bet yours has plenty to tell." Retrieving what looks like a Jolly Rancher from his hoodie, he smirks. "Can't speak from experience, personally. Haven't been accused of being a work of art, but a few folks have told me I'm a piece of work."

With an acknowledging nod, about the least smart ass and potentially least derisive thing she can muster in the moment- Amber turns her attention away from Matt Knox who makes an exit almost straight into a distracted Zephyr Quinn.
The two women lock eyes for a brief moment, before ZQ tears herself away to flick through her phone. Unperturbed, Amber moves off the wall she had been holding up to possibly make an exit of her own.

"Oh, I see. I'm not an artist so I wouldn't get you."
He shrugged, snorting a bit.
"Well you got me there. I ain't artistic to save my life. Don't know shit about the deeper meaning behind paintings and shit. Too dense for that, I guess. All I know is how to beat people up, which is how come I'm here. Art's beyond me."
He took another step back, still bristling slightly. His eyes darted between the two.
"I gotta get going anyhow. It's a long way home and I gotta be back here soon. I'll leave the room to the artists actually using it."
Huffing a bit, he gave a nod to Silvio. He didn't mean to abandon what had been a civil conversation, and the other newcomer seemed okay, but he could feel himself getting more and more on edge and didn't want to start throwing hands. Not just yet.

Maggie watched Mitch leave in a huff. Parts of her wished that she didn't come off to other people the way that she did. But a small part of her, perhaps the part that she most attributes to this 'Jenova' persona, smirked in cold blood. But when she glanced back over at Silvio, she could feel her cheeks blush. It was embarrassing to be so terrible in these social situations.
"That was..." Maggie chuckled and sighed. "...kind of you."
The sweat dripping from her pores had turned frigid. She was uncomfortable. Parts of her wanted to go apologize to Mitch and explain to him that she just didn't know how to explain herself. Parts of her wanted to go kick Mitch in his Detroit teeth.
"I... uhh... better go." She picked up her towel and water bottle. "You... uhh... maybe might bring your cards next time? I'd be interested in hearing what they have to say about me. I've been having a bit of trouble finding my voice myself."

"Oh, uh...safe trip back, Mitch! Catch you later!" Silvio called at the gruff man's departing back. Turning to Jenova, he smiled and offered her the candy in his hand. "Hey, any time. Just let me know and I'll bring my deck. Treat for the road? I kinda got a sweet tooth for these."
Seeing a flash of scarlet, he almost did a double take at the gym's newest entrant.

Amber gave both them both a sly grin of varying proportions and unease.
"Feel like I'm trampling all over some private conversation."
Oracles and ghosts of the past, no one ever said Carnage wasn't home to some rather furious characters. Leaning against the wall, seeing as neither had made a move nor sound to indicate that she was unwelcome, Amber eyed them both.
"Otherwise, I'd say I'm rather fine... Place has been buzzing recently and it's rather difficult to find quiet or conversation that doesn't devolve into... Well. Cliches."
A chuckle at her own joke garners little response, as it very well shouldn't have cause it was terrible.
"And your good self? Making yourself at home and such- it ain't such a bad place if you can get over the gratuitous violence."
Another laugh, another awkward silence. Despite being a champion, it was always painfully clear to the redhead that she was rather inept in any social aspect that didn't devolve into fisticuffs.

"No trampling!" Silvio assured. "Actually, it's pretty cool I get to meet so many of the other folks here. It's one thing to watch somebody in the ring or see a promo, but face-to-face is different, y'know? So, nice to meet you in person! Ah, jeez, sorry - don't wanna be rude."
Reaching into his pocket again with his free hand, he takes out another candy and offers it to Ryan.
"It's been pretty wild getting settled in, but hey - new adventure, right? Never lived in Baltimore or done this professionally before. I got my tattoo parlor set up, so it's a nice shot of normalcy and routine to fall back on if I'm feeling overwhelmed."
