Traditionally, hospitals are not the site for romantic interludes. However, that was before the days of women being in wrestling, having romantic on screen relationships, and then being the subject of one of the most violent wrestling matches in recent history. The match in question of course saw a lot of blood shed for whatever it was that Zephyr and Mitaxia were fighting over.

When looking at an epic tale, one doesn’t look at the past, they look at the present, not wanting to miss the exciting moments. That match that saw both Zephyr and Belle both sustain several cuts and bruises, injuries that would typically sideline a lesser person didn’t mean anything at that moment. Nurses and doctors alike all looked in admiration as Zephyr and Belle sat in recovery after both receiving stitches for multiple injuries. Zephyr of course saw the worst of it, but that didn’t wash the look of concern off of her face as she looks at the solitary bandage on Belle’s arm, covering the thirteen stitches she required to close up the cut Su gave her with a broken fluorescent tube.
Zephyr’s eyes dart between Belle’s eyes, scarcely believing that Belle was once again by her side and looking at her with nothing but love and admiration in her eyes. The feeling was mutual but Zephyr was confused, something was bugging her and she wasn’t sure she wanted to poke and prod that particular train of thought for fear of it backfiring against her. The one thing Zephyr was missing in her life, but didn’t know just how much she missed, was in front of her. Love. The potential for a long and lasting relationship. But it lacked something. Zephyr smiles weakly at Belle, a sign that the reporter started taking that Zephyr was getting tired after going to hell and back against Mia. Belle drops her hand and smiles back at Zephyr.
Belle Silva: It’s getting late. We should probably get some rest, we’re getting released tomor…
She stops as she looks at the Zephyr. The warrior before her sat looking at her with those big and soulful eyes, but instead of that light that drew Belle to her in the first place, there was something else clouding Zephyr’s gaze. It was a look Belle knew only too well.
Sorrow.
Belle draws in air sharply. It was a conversation she wanted to avoid like the plague but seeing how stubborn doctors were, she was stuck in this bed next to the girlfriend that she hurt deeply. “Unbreak My Heart” by Weezer comes on over the hospital music channel that Zephyr had absentmindedly stopped on while searching for something to watch earlier. Belle takes in more air, this didn’t bode well.
“Don't leave me in all this pain
Don't leave me out in the rain”
The song begins and this time it’s Zephyr that draws in the air sharply. Ripping off a bandaid quickly was always better than doing it slowly, right?
Zephyr Quinn: Why don’t you trust me Belle?
Belle reacts like she is slapped in the face. If anyone would have asked her, she would have taken the credit for her screw up. She KNEW Su was in town, Zephyr told her as much. Belle was aware what Su was capable of, Zephyr planned on her trying something. Zephyr made every possible precaution to prevent something like this from happening and Belle still fell for it, hook line, and sinker.
“Unbreak my heart
Say you'll love me again
Undo this hurt you caused
When you walked out the door
And walked out of my life
Un-cry these tears
I cried so many nights”
Belle Silva: I… I don’t know Zeph.
Belle withdraws her hand, she didn’t deserve Zephyr. Not after failing her like this. Zephyr stood back, ready to take whatever Belle could throw in her direction, but her eyes told a different story. Everything went bad, Su interfered, and Belle imploded, shutting Zephyr out of her life. Zephyr should be furious, upset that Belle would give up so easily. Instead, she sits quietly, waiting for Belle to continue. This was something she wanted and she’d be damned if her temper would jeopardize things any further than they already were.
Belle Silva: I guess… I think I was just ready for the worst to happen. I know that isn’t an excuse Zephyr, and I feel like such a fool. You WARNED me about Su, that this would happen and I… I don’t know.
“I can't forget the day you left
Time is so unkind
And life is so cruel without you here beside me”
The lyrics bring back that cold and rainy night Zephyr stood outside Belle’s apartment, trying desperately to call her… To explain that it was just Su up to her tricks, but Belle just… Ignored her.
Zephyr Quinn: What we hav… Had Belle… It meant the world to me. It was everything I dreamed being in a meaningful relationship would be like and so much more. What did I do wrong to make you think I’d throw it all away?
Her voice was quiet, but Belle could hear the tremble in Zephyr’s voice. She knew Zephyr was in pain, hurt far beyond anything that Mia would have ever been able to do. Zephyr wouldn’t meet Belle’s gaze, but that was fine by Belle, she didn’t think she could take hearing AND seeing the hurt felt by Zephyr.
“Undo this hurt you caused
When you walked out the door
And walked out of my life…”
Belle remains silent, staring at her hands as they wring themselves, unable to say anything. It all sounded wrong to her anyways. The song ends and a ringing silence overtakes the room, only to be broken by the unsteady tremor of Belle’s voice.
Belle Silva: Let’s uhm… Let’s get some sleep. It’s been a long day for both of us and maybe we can figure everything else out once we’re out of here and have… Sleep.
She reaches out for the chain to turn off their light and Zephyr takes Belle’s hand in hers. Belle stops and looks at the gesture before meeting Zephyr’s gaze. Tears steadily fall down Zephyr's cheeks and Belle felt the same tears start to form in her eyes. Together, they pull the chain and the lights extinguish.
