The phone rings but Belle didn't care. She never set up her voicemail, never cared to, never felt the need. She was always good at picking up the phone because it was only ever work. Now?
*RING*
She sighs, irritated. Zephyr had been calling nonstop, of course well aware to Belle's aversion to voicemail. It was only a couple hours that Zephyr had sent so many texts to Belle, that she threw it against the wall and took a hammer to it.
Rest in peace phone, you'll be replaced with a new number tomorrow. Belle stomps over to the landline and rips the cord from the phone. Who uses a landline anymore anyways? She tries to head back to her favorite cozy spot on the couch, currently sporting her quart of Ben & Jerry's she had been working on; when something catches her eye outside of the window. It had been rainy and chilly today, but there stood Zephyr, the weather conditions be damned. Her hair plastered to her head by the mist coming down in sheets but there she stood repeatedly calling Belle from her cell phone. She tries to yell to Belle that they need to talk and puts her phone up to her ear once again to try and call. Belle glances at the cord ripped out of the wall and watches as Zephyr's face falls, hearing nothing but a busy signal in her ear.
Belle wasn't going to put herself there again. Zephyr would just have to learn that sometimes, mistakes can't be forgiven. Closing the drapes, Belle does her best to ignore the crushed look that washes over Zephyr's features and turns back to her now melting ice cream and whatever she zones out watching. It didn't matter.
Zephyr turns, heading back the way she came. It was going to be a long walk back to Mac's place, she hadn't invested in a car yet, but that was ok. She needed to be alone right now.
