Pre Chaos 95
Outside Belle Silva’s Apartment
===========================
Mia watches Ataxia’s figure disappear into the darkness. Most of the voices inside of her head raged for her to go after him. Instead, she calmly takes a hit from her weed pen before exhaling slowly, watching the smoke billow in her car and smiling slightly as the waves of smoke in the air disappear. Of course she could go after him.
But she wouldn’t catch him. She knew him better than that, maybe even better than he knew himself. He’d show his burlap sack again and when the right moment hits, she’ll take him by surprise.
Mia Rayne: Always watching, my ass… No pun intended.
She giggles at her joke and then scowls at herself in the rearview mirror. The sound of her own voice out loud always grated on her nerves. She takes another hit and pulls her car away from Silva’s apartment. The interviewer would give Mia the answers she needs. Of course Zephyr would show up to make that save, and then Mia could get her hands on her sister as well. It was Zephyr’s fault she was here in this state in the first place; not the shithole that Maryland is, but the state of mind that left Mia curled into a ball, confused and angry but even more alone than ever. It was never supposed to be like this. Ever…
==============================================
Mitaxia stands in nothing but inky blackness. Quiet explosions are seen in the distance, the sound never making it to where Mitaxia stands. Her mask wears the expression of a happy face, only painted to look like dried blood, which turns to look at the camera. Viewers everywhere shudder at the very sight.
Boom. Another soft explosion in the distance.
Mitaxia: Zephyr… ZQ…
She takes a deep, shuddering breath. Almost like the monster in front of the camera was exhibiting… Feelings of uncertainty?!
Mitaxia: Before you… Awoke me, tied me into the very chair I tied you into, I lived a very lonely life. It was quiet and it was for me. I was lost and looking to be found once again. I came to Carnage looking for a fresh start, a chance to forget about the past and move onto a brighter future.
An explosion pops in the distance, highlighting Mitaxia in the spurts of bright flame colors before extinguishing itself back into inky blackness. The only sound that can be heard is Mitaxia’s voice echoing into the void.
Mitaxia: But then dear sister, you came along with your twin, our father in some secret organization that few have had the pleasure of dealing with or even hearing about. You kidnap me, you tie me up, and you force me to see that not only are you my sisters, my blood family, but you wanted me back. You wanted to make me a part of your family…
She snickers.
Mitaxia: Family. What a concept right? This idea that people would stand by you no matter what. Any mistake made would be forgotten if forgiveness was sought after. No stronger bond will be formed in your life than the people that have known you since being extracted from our mother’s womb. Yet you know just as well as I do that’s all a load of shit. Chocolate covered shit with shit sprinkles and topped with shit whipped cream.
We KNOW that after a while, family starts to turn, that when the going gets tough, they look out for themselves instead of that person that they told all their fucking LIVES that no matter what… They would be there for them. Everything we were taught to believe growing up was a lie Zephyr. Family is shit just like the majority of the human population. Stick a fancy label on junk and guess what? It’s still junk.
By that logic Zephyr, YOU, are my junk. And it’s time that I deal with you like junk should be dealt with.
Another explosion in the distance, this one bigger than the rest and highlights Mitaxia in a flickering light, her blood drawn smile the last thing seen before everything fades to black.

Mia’s apartment - Post Chaos 95
The normally quiet house at the end of a even more quiet dead end street rumbles with the sounds of chaos inside. If there were neighbors, they would be concerned and probably call the proper authorities to do a wellness check on the one lone occupant, Mia Rayne. However…
That was exactly what drew Mia to this place. Not only was rent affordable, it was fitting in her eyes to live on a dead end street; just like her life had taken a turn for. She sees the end coming and she’s rushing into it without realizing the breakneck speed she’s going. Or maybe she does and Mia just wishes for a quick end to all of her inner turmoil. However, another perk was that not another soul lived around Mia, which meant that when she was expectedly met with Zephyr’s backstabbing attack, and unexpectedly attacked by that… Precious little soul that needed to be taught a lesson. But… She was only a small fish in a much bigger pond of predators.
The answers that Mia sought from Silva about Ataxia were never attained. She never found out when what he was doing there that night and the fact that she was SO close to pinning him down, so close to having him right where she wanted him made her just… So angry. Mia picks up another one of her cheap lawn chairs she used as furniture and hurls it across the room, watching it bounce before finally laying still. The room was a hot mess, pictures of her time in the CWF, The Forsaken, and Mia with Ataxia lay strewn and torn apart. The coffin that Mia had pilfered from Ataxia’s “lair” lays on its side, the only indication of damage being a boot print on the side, supposedly the one that pushed it over. She screams in rage, knowing that no one would hear the blood curdling scream as she grabs the nearest pile of pictures and tears them to shreds as hot and angry tears fall from her face.
Picture confetti acquired, she throws it in the air sobbing. Everything she tried to accomplish in her short career had blown up in her face unexpectedly. Sure, there were extenuating circumstances most times, but at the end of the day, Mia knew, she KNEW that it was all her fault. Blood streams from several fresh cuts, dripping onto Mia’s next target, a picture that has been crumpled several times over, burned, and otherwise put through horrific tortures… For a picture. Sobbing, she tears it in two, separating Ataxia embracing Mia as the two look happily into the camera, not a care in the world.
Mia Rayne: WE SHOULD HAVE CARED THOUGH… WE SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING… MORE. Maybe if you hadn’t…
She stops and shakes her head…
Mia Rayne: Maybe if I had done something more…
Mia visibly shudders before grabbing a pair of scissors from close by, doing things that scissors aren’t meant to do to the human body. More blood as Mia collapses beside the half of the picture with Ataxia.
Mia Rayne: You ran and hid… You said love and then you disappear. You come back to Jaiden Rishel of all people and you left me in the dark. You left me…
She sobs to herself as the once noise filled house settles at the end of a deadend street. A figure pops up out of the shadows, pushing her long black hair from her face. Su smiles to herself before cutting through the darkness toward the house.
================================
Mitaxia: Parallels, Zephyr…
A screen illuminates a once again pitch black area. Mitaxia rises from the darkness in front and in the middle of the screen. The picture flickers on; one one half a video depicting Mia at her all time highs in the ring as well as her all time lows. On the opposite side of the screen it depicts the same for Zephyr.
Mitaxia: We have walked a lot of the same path in our professional careers Zephyr. We’ve both drawn blood, done things we might not be proud of…
She stops to consider her words.
Mitaxia: I apologize for misspeaking. I’ve done a lot in my career Zephyr. Caused a lot of destruction and leaving a path of devastation in my wake. I’ve injured people once considered family just for the sake of a piece of gold and being called “the best.” I’ve experienced bringing out the very worst aspects of my being and I look back on those moments in fond and loving ways. The point of this?
Mitaxia looks back at the screen, currently showing her dressed as a deranged jester taking on a young girl in what looks to be a vicious barbed wire match. On Zephyr’s side of the screen it shows her fall to Mac Bane.
Mitaxia: I’ve been through it all sister. Anything you could possibly conceive in that science experiment head of yours are the things that I dream about doing to most anyone, nay, anyone and everyone I’ve ever met. When you turned your back on your own sisters, you turned into another one who has, “seen it all before.” Another idiot that is too blind to understand the threat that I represent, the danger of pissing me off to the point that I imagine all the nice and pointy things around the arena to destroy you with. I don’t doubt that you have more of the same planned for me and that’s ok.
I’ve made peace with laying down to rest a long time ago. This? This match that you challenged me to?
It’s just another chance to be remembered for something as opposed to nothing. When you lie awake at night, because I KNOW that you don’t sleep for shit, do you know what it is that you’ll be remembered for?
Zephyr’s video shows a various string of her most recent losses. Getting brutalized by Lab Rat King in a match up that saw her stand toe to toe with Jonathan Willis. Getting suplexed after rescuing Bane in a triple threat match against Trent Steel for the Baltimore Championship. Losing a shot at the Ultraviolent Championship to Eli Goode.
Mitaxia: What exactly is your legacy going to be?
Mitaxia’s words float in the air as she fades from sight, the only light being the screen still showing the side by side careers of Mia Rayne and Zephyr Quinn. Mia keeps picking up win after win against people unfamiliar to Carnage eyes. Zephyr’s show her victories as the vicious ZQ and her losses as Zephyr Quinn until the screen also fades into the inky black.
===================================
A soft knock interrupts Mia’s sob fest and she snarls in the general direction of the door.
Mia Rayne: Go away! Rent isn’t due for another couple weeks and you have NO reason to be here!
Another knock and Mia’s yells grow more frantic.
Mia Rayne: I. Said. GOOOOOOOOO!
Her roar rattles the glass and silence falls again, only broken by Mia’s sobs. She glares at the door, daring the knock to come again. Instead she hears something more bone chilling.
An all too familiar giggle.
Leaping up from where she was crouched on the floor, Mia winces as she shakes her fast asleep legs out before launching herself at the door, whipping it open. Standing in front of her, was Zephyr’s twin Su.
Su: Oh darling sister, it’s been too long. Doing well I hope?
Her eyes are alight with mischief as Mia only glares at her, unmoving and silent.
Su: Well don’t be a bad hostess! Invite me in! Throw some coffee on! We have some things to catch up on!
Mia snarls but steps back from the door letting her sister into her home. Su steps on top of most of the pictures, at least all the ones she could conceivable step on as she heads to the closest chair. Wiping it clean from all of the pictures, she plops down and kicks her feet on top of the coffin in front of her, smiling at Mia the entire time.
Mia Rayne: The fuck you think you’re doing here?! Come to gloat?!
Su giggles lightly, her hand coming up to her chest in mock surprise.
Su: Why Mia! I’m shocked! It’s like you DON’T want to see me! Believe it or not... I have not come here to gloat at the glorious dumpster fire that your career has become.
She laughs again but Mia remains stone-faced and stoic. She wasn’t going to give anything to Su.
Su: Listen, I have nothing personal against you and in fact have come back to help you with your current plight. You have mentioned in the past that family helps each other and well, at the end of the day…
She doesn’t get a chance to finish as Mia’s eyes well up with tears. She sobs again and runs at Su before collapsing in her younger sister’s arms.
Su: I know… Zephyr needs to be punished for her crimes against us. Trust me, her comeuppance is now upon her. Together, we will destroy her world inside the ring, and this dearest Mia, is where you come in. You have the power to destroy her completely and utterly. Zephyr has unknowingly fallen right where we need her to be. Unsure about herself enough to be headstrong and push for matches she has no business in. YOU will show this to her come Chaos.
Mia nods, unwilling to accept the humility of making eye contact with anything but the back of her eyelids.
Su: And while you are destroying our sister in every which way physically… I’ll be destroying her life outside the ring. She believes that she has found her happily ever after, the “love of her life.” It’s time I show her just how much of a lie that feeling is… Zephyr is going to get a harsh slap of reality soon Mia, don’t worry. In the meantime, you will have to know that I am here for you, I am your sister after all, regardless of what happened in the past.
Again Mia nods her agreement and shudders slightly as Su embraces her, an evil smile playing at the corners of the twin's lips.
==============================================
Forsaken:Abandoned; deserted; forlorn
The word with its definition is emblazoned upon the screen, Mitaxia once again only a silhouette in the darkness. Her mask glows with the reflection from the screen, the only source of light in Mitaxia’s dark world.
Mitaxia: Take a good, long, hard look at this word Zephyr. It’s been a massive part of my life, the very essence of my professional career as well as my world outside of that ring. Abandoned by you, Su, our father at a young age. Deserted by our mother when she chose a self destructive path over her own FUCKING DAUGHTER.
Her words echo into the darkness, the definition of Forsaken the only thing that remains steadfast in Mitaxia’s rage filled growl.
Mitaxia: I found a new family though, almost immediately upon joining my first federation. The Forsaken. The Shadow and Ataxia instantly drawn to yours truly and requesting I join their little family. The Forsaken… I should have known, I should have KNOWN.
The last word is spoken with a ferocity that would make the most stone cold and emotionless soul quake with fear. Medusa herself would rather admire her reflection one last time than endure the Earth rumbling growl being emitted from Mitaxia.
Mitaxia: They accepted me immediately. Ataxia and I formed a romance that matched what you have with Belle, which… Even I have to admit is difficult to conceive. Something that redefined the word, “magical.” Anything I experienced up until that point… Was fixed. I thought that there was nothing in the world that would stop my fairy tale from existing.
I was wrong though, in so many ways. For one reason or the other, in a dramatic twist of irony, the members of the Forsaken actually forsook each other. Ataxia turned on Shadow. I turned on all of them at one point but that’s another story for a different time. I came to my senses and I tried to correct the path, earn back my Knight in Shining Burlap and go back to where we were, a place that only we know.
Her voice has changed from a low growl to a higher pitch; reminiscent of a person looking back on memories fondly.
Mitaxia: It didn’t work. He left and never told me what was happening, which come to think of it, was one of the staples of our relationship. Just like that he disappeared while I was at an apex of my career. In the same night I bested him, I won a battle royal to challenge for the World Championship, to go toe to toe with a man known as “The Ego Breaker.” A man that was known to dominate every opponent he came across…
It wasn’t to be though.
Everyone was gone at that point, an offer was made to me by Jaiden Rishel, and just like that, I couldn’t do it. I left before I got my main event match at the biggest event of the year. I left without being inducted into the Hall of Fame, and I forsook a place that I had called my home. I abandoned it.
Her voice is shaky, a definitive change from when she first started talking. Her shoulders slumped, she continues.
Mitaxia: I lost it all Zephyr. I had everything that you presently have and so much more. I left because at that point I realized that I found a family united in the fact that they were all forsaken from whatever path brought them to that very moment; turned on each other, walked away, and to this day blame each other for never reaching out and taking that first step.
The Forsaken became their namesake. Their legacy is in the irony that surrounds them all… Including me.
Mitaxia sighs and straightens up, her resolve once again taking over.
Mitaxia: I don’t tell you all of this for pity or ask you to reconsider my offer to join me. I know that you’re hooked on this idea that you can erase the past by “doing the right thing” at the present. I wish you’d rethink things, but why bother if I already know the end result?
No Zephyr, I’ve told you all of this, all of the Carnage legion, so they know to fear me. I came to Carnage looking for a new home and one by one every single person on the roster, in management, fans, they all turned when I decided to move on from my past. When I decided that I wasn’t going to let anyone forsake me anymore. When I get my hands on Ataxia; and rest assured Zephyr, I WILL get my hands on him; I will destroy him, pay him back tenfold for everything he took from me when he left me abandoned and confused.
Now imagine in that thick skull of yours everything I have in store for him for what he did to me. Imagine my rage, pent up and ready to explode. The last time I faced off against him, we tore each other to shreds just so I could hear him say that he loved me again.
Just imagine all of that Zephyr, and then realize how many sins you have committed against me and your family.
You dearest sister, have forsaken me, your twin, and whatever remnants of our family there is left behind. You turned your back on all of us and now? You will be made to pay for your sins. Consider me one of your regrets coming to collect on what you’ve done to me. You will be made to pay Zephyr and you will finally understand what it means, what it feels like to truly be…

Belle Silva: Are you sure about all of this?
Healthy habits always made sense to Belle and it was refreshing to see that Zephyr was so willing to embark on so many new experiences. In off time away from Carnage, they travel to various nearby museums, art galleries, and whatever else the young couple could find while venturing out. They called it “going on an adventure” for the simple fact that they COULD stay in, watch a movie with a tub full of take out food; or they could go out and experience the world. It was a concept that Zephyr found to be exhilarating and she looks forward to each and every one. Currently though, the two are having a light work out in their favorite gym on neighboring treadmills.
Zephyr glances over at the most beautiful human she had ever met and thanks her lucky stars for the millionth time that day for the good fortune of Belle finding her. Her breathing steady she puts her hand reassuringly on Belle’s arm and gives her what she hoped was a compassionate look.
Zephyr Quinn: Babe, you know I am. This is…
She sighs and pauses before turning the treadmill off, hopping off and patting herself off with a towel.
Zephyr Quinn: Sorry, this was easier than trying to sprint AND talk…
Belle smiles and does the same, joining Zephyr. She takes the towel from Zephyr and gently pats her forehead, before placing a kiss in the middle of it. Zephyr blushes and Belle smiles. It was a game they enjoyed playing and improve upon Zephyr’s self consciousness. Quinn looks around nervously but smiles back at Belle.
Belle Silva: It’s only because I was beating you wasn’t it?
Zephyr Quinn: I… Wha… NO! Grrr…
Belle laughs as she steals Zephyr’s towel and trots off, Zephyr following her while stammering a weak protest. Finally Belle stops at a support beam on the wall, in front of several mirrors. A former dancer, Belle enjoyed practicing a few ballet moves on occasion. Zephyr honestly couldn’t complain, it was good to stretch.
Zephyr Quinn: No, it was…
Belle laughs again.
Belle Silva: I know Zeph. I’m just worried about everything you’ve taken on recently. You were brutalized by the Lab Rat King.
Zephyr looks mildly uncomfortable but shrugs it off.
Zephyr Quinn: I wouldn’t call it “brutalized.” He was just… Bigger than I thought. I don’t know though, there’s something more to him than just “another monster.” We share a past and I see a lot of what I experienced during my own time as a B+ science experiment…
Belle glances over and stops what she is doing before crossing the floor and taking Zephyr’s face in her hands, forcing them to stare into each other’s eyes.
Belle Silva: Hey… You’re MY solid A science experiment…
Zephyr stammers again and Belle only laughs lightly before planting another kiss, this one on Zephyr’s lips, if only to get her to stop talking. They break apart and Belle goes back to practicing, a small smile on her lips as she watches Zephyr’s expression change to the warm look of relaxation she gets when she remembers everything she’s gained since realizing that there was more to life than taking orders.
Zephyr Quinn: But… I’m not an A+?
They both share a laugh and Zephyr rubs the back of her neck.
Zephyr Quinn: Either way… He obviously had every advantage in that match. I don’t know, I felt like maybe he pulled his punches and saw whatever it is people see in a person’s soul. There was inner conflict.
Belle smirks, confidant in her assessment.
Belle Silva: You think you can help him don’t you?
Zephyr nods.
Zephyr Quinn: Maybe, but I don’t know if he’d listen to me without taking his pound of flesh first… And I like all of my flesh the way it is thank you.
Belle Silva: You have a point there. I like your flesh where it is too.
They share a knowing look. A common person would gag at the amount of flirting that these two do with only the slightest of looks. Suddenly, Belle narrows her eyes just past Zephyr, on the outskirts of the crowd but staring straight through them all directly at her. She refocuses on Zephyr and then tries to find the long haired girl, that looked like Zephyr…
Belle Silva: It couldn’t be…
She shakes her head as a concerned look crosses over Zephyr’s features. Forever concerned and equally protective, Zephyr abandons her chair and crosses over to Belle.
Zephyr Quinn: Are you ok?
Belle blinks briefly and shakes her head again.
Belle Silva: What? Yeah, I’m fine. Maybe just a little hungry. OH! There’s a new corner place opening up down the street from here, want to check it out?
Zephyr’s concerned look lingers but only for a moment longer.
Zephyr Quinn: Yeah, I’m that sounds good! I just want to shower first, I smell like the bottom of a shoe.
Belle sniffs and wrinkles her nose.
Belle Silva: Exquisite.
She pulls Zephyr in close and together they head off toward the locker room.
Zephyr Quinn: You’re something else, you know that?
“The Crazy Angel” Zephyr Quinn sits perched on top of a wall separating the Baltimore boardwalk from the beach beyond. She sits with her back to the camera, her hood up and hiding any features from view.
Zephyr Quinn: You enjoy playing the victim don’t you Mia? Life fucking sucks, we all get it and we’ve all experienced it. You wanted to hang your hat on the fact everything that you did, what… Two years ago now? Doesn’t seem like a long time, but what have you done recently? Oh yeah, complained because your boyfriend sent my girlfriend flowers, threatened her safety, and lost to a new person on the roster after you swatted him with the ring bell. Right out of the air…
POW!
Zephyr smacks her thigh for emphasis before turning smoothly on the balls of her feet to face the camera. Her expression is stoic, impenetrable as she addresses her sister, Mia Rayne.
Zephyr Quinn: You knew that he had your number. You wanted to end things on your terms, regardless of what that might actually mean. You’ve made such bold claims about being everything but a coward, yet for all of your words, your threats, and everything you’ve put me through personally for past sins I freely admit to and would like to amend at some point down the road; you have shown that you are nothing but a coward. You feel like I wronged you when I begged you to believe that I was your sister. It was PROVEN to you that we are blood related and YOU Mia, were the source of the strength it took for me to realize that the path I was on?
It wasn’t good.
The world is a shit place every where you look. Why bother adding to all of the pain and the hurt by being nothing more than someone who attacks for the sake of attacking? Willfully hurting people and leaving a path of destruction in your wake; sure that’s a way to be remembered, but why?
Zephyr’s gaze turns back toward the sun setting over the water, casting beautiful hues of blues and reds that make Zephyr feel secure in the coolness it brings.
Zephyr Quinn: Everything about you has to be dark. No scenery, nothing but inky blackness surrounding you, encompassing you. You think that people put you there, but I have a news flash dearest sister, you have kept yourself there. You have been offered help from several sources and you have spit in the face of every single one of them. Do you really want to know your deep and dark secret that keeps you in that blackness you refuse to crawl out of? It’s because you think the world owes you so much for “forsaking” you.
The world owes you shit and I owe you even less at this point.
Her voice turns to a low growl, one reminiscent of the last time she saw her twin Su.
Zephyr Quinn: You have involved yourself in my life in the most violent of ways. You have beaten me at every turn and yet I have refused to give up because I thought that you would eventually change, that you’d follow in my footsteps and realize that there is SO much more to life than the pain you feel. Look at this sunset Mia…
The camera zooms in behind Zephyr. The sun is now low in the horizon, only a sliver of an arch visible above the edge of tomorrow. Warm and cool colors swirl together to form a magical feeling hard to replicate.
Zephyr Quinn: I opened my eyes and saw beauty in this world for the first time in a very long time. A simple sunset made me feel something magical that I never thought in my wildest nightmare I would. THAT is the difference between us Mia. I was willing to take the path least travelled in our family. Instead of hiding from the problem behind another mask, I face it, let what comes, come. Sometimes, what shows up on my doorstep isn’t very pretty, look at yourself in the mirror, and you’ll understand what I’m talking about.
She smiles at her jab but continues.
Zephyr Quinn: Yes Mia, I helped kidnap you before and I begged for you to join your sister, my twin in whatever plans we had hatching. Is that one of the things that I’m trying to repent for? You’re damn right. Do I wish that I could take it back and try something else to prove to you how much it would mean to me for us to be on the same side? I think we both know the answer to that. The point Mia, is that I’ve begged for forgiveness already, several times. Each and every time you turned your back on me. What exactly does that say about you?
You represent my biggest regret to date and I’m sorry for what I did. You don’t want to listen to an everyday apology and you seem to only respond by striking me when I least expect it. Rest assured Mia, I’m picking up what you’re putting down.
The sun finally extinguishes itself beneath the horizon as night falls.
Zephyr Quinn: I’ll speak your language. If all you want to do is wreck havoc, then who am I to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to that? I promise you this Mia, I know what you’re capable of. I know that because I’ve been there. I’ve been both giver and receiver of most of what you are capable of and I’m counting on you getting creative in order to shut me up for good…
She rises, intensity building with every word as she balances on the ledge she was sitting on.
Zephyr Quinn: Or at least try to. For every ounce of sadism you have Mia, I promise you I’ll match it and return it tenfold. At the very end of this war, we will both know each other so much more than any kind of conversation could take us. After all of this, I leave it all on you. You can fix your own broken bridges, or you can stay in the wasteland you call home and sulk until you die cold and alone.
================================================
As Zephyr finished up in the shower, Belle toweled off and got dressed before waiting outside the locker room for Zephyr. Belle was a girl’s girl but she swore that it took Zephyr longer to get ready to go anywhere. Looking up from checking out the latest in social gossip on Twitter, she smiles as Zephyr approaches her, almost cautiously. Her powers of observation forever the biggest part of her life, Belle notes that Zephyr’s hair doesn’t look wet, but done up the way she would if she was going out for a match. Belle finds it odd and is about to say something as Zephyr is suddenly directly in front of her. Belle tries to reach out to embrace Zephyr, but she moves away.
Was this a nightmare?
Belle’s eyes well up with tears as Zephyr takes a deep breath.
Zephyr Quinn: Listen, Belle… I was doing some thinking earlier and… I just think we need to see other people…
Zephyr doesn’t get a chance to continue as Belle slaps her across the face! Zephyr reacts by putting her hand up in defense, the other one rubbing the red welt on her cheek.
Belle Silva: WHAT?!
Zephyr tries to recover quickly taking a couple steps back.
Zephyr Quinn: I love you and all, but… I just don’t feel the same about you that I did when we first met.
She pauses, chewing on her words some as Belle’s face gets more red with a side of hot tears to boot as Zephyr continues.
Zephyr Quinn: I’m just not feeling the, “magic” anymore.
Belle shakes her head angrily doing her best not to completely lose it.
Belle Silva: Zeph, I… Was it something I did? I didn’t do?
Zephyr takes her hand down from a defensive posture and rubs the back of her neck.
Zephyr Quinn: A little bit of both, yeah. It was like you weren’t trying anymore and we were just… Coasting along… Belle, I just want to say that I really enjoyed our time together. I hope we can still be friends…
There was something inherently sinister lurking in Zephyr’s words but Belle couldn’t place her finger on it. Her world was currently imploding and she had no idea what to do next. She felt hot, like her mere presence would make ice melt. She could feel her tears like lava runs hot down a trench. The world was spinning and all she could decide on for sure is that she needed to get out of there fast. Trying to catch her breath she gasps for air and doubles over before recovering quickly and almost running past Zephyr and out the door.
Belle’s departure garnered her a few looks, but she only shrugs and shakes her long black hair out of a wig she purchased at a local merchandise stand. The hair falls around her hips and her smile turns sickly and sinister. She giggles and skips out the door as she hears her twin, Zephyr coming from the direction of the locker room.
Zephyr Quinn: Hey Belle! You know, I was thinking that our one month anniversary is coming up. What did you want to do for it? I was think…
She stops in mid sentence looking around in complete confusion.
Zephyr Quinn: Belle?
Her confusion growing to panic she frantically yells out, but no laugh comes. No Belle, peaking out from around a corner and beckoning Zephyr to follow her. Zephyr’s shoulders slump as she asks the desk clerk where Belle went, the hot chick she was with. Astounded, the clerk explains.
Greg, the Clerk: You… You just broke up with her. She got upset and ran out and then you took off a wig, skipping out right before you laughed and skipped out the door. You then just came from the same place and now we’re here… I’m… I’m really confused right now, can I go home?
Zephyr snarls, stops herself, and takes a deep breath.
Zephyr Quinn: What do you mean I “broke up with her?!”
Greg the clerk looks completely scared at this point.
Greg, the Clerk: Listen lady, I try not to get involved in other people’s stuff for what I can assume are obvious reasons.
He points to Zephyr’s reflection in one of several mirrors behind him. Zephyr glances at her reflection and is almost shocked at what she sees staring back at her. A look of crazed anger, much like the one that consumed her when she was nothing more than a monster controlled by a leash led by her twin Su…
Zephyr Quinn: Su…
She clenches her fists and does her best to calmly hand the clerk several bills, not bothering to look and see what they were.
Zephyr Quinn: Take… This… Sorry for… Your time.
Her words are strained as she gathers her belongings and goes outside. Greg, the clerk picks up the bills and looks around before counting out three hundred dollars and pocketing it quietly. He jumps though as he suddenly hear’s Zephyr Quinn’s howls of anguish from outside the closed doors.
=============================================
Zephyr Quinn: I know you had a part in this Mia…
Zephyr’s voice is quiet as the camera comes to life. Mimicking Mia Rayne’s promo style, she stands alone, her hoodie shining white amongst the abyss that is nothing but inky blackness around her.
Zephyr Quinn: I know… I KNEW Su was back and here. You could have stopped it and instead you listen to her when she tells you that you’re family. I’ve told you for weeks now and you’ve ignored me at every turn. She shows up on your doorstep and you become inseparable?!
Her voice is a state of crazed fury. Her eyes blaze with electric that is hard to put into words. The best part of doing a promo alone and in an abyss of black… There was no risk of collateral damage.
Zephyr Quinn: You plot against me, looking to destroy me… No… That’s what a regular person would think, but I KNOW you two. I was a part of your little group of Hot Topic rejects and I know how you think. You’re about the irony, you want to teach me a lesson. You want to tear me from the one thing I care for. The one thing I found since opening my fucking eyes to the rest of the world outside the dark bubble you two have called “home…”
She snickers, stuffing her hands into her hoodie pocket and clenching them together, almost wringing her fingers. She never knew what to do with her hands during these things. She paces as she continues to address Mia and Zephyr’s twin sister, Su.
Zephyr Quinn: You like to play with words and gave me a lesson in what the word, “forsaken” means to you. Well congratulations Mia, now I know even more about you than I care to even begin to admit. You spout a lot of shit and maybe some of it is true… Most of it perhaps, who can tell with how much you open your mouth?
She smirks again and takes a hand out of her pocket, holding it up as she stops pacing, and snapping her fingers. Instantly the darkness fades away. Zephyr stands in the middle of the Carnage Wrestling ring, the spotlights above it all turned on her.
Zephyr Quinn: Don't bother being surprised, you aren't the only one with the power of a green screen. This is your wake up call Mia! There’s this ring and what happens in it and there’s an entire world outside of this ring. It’s beautiful there and once you open your eyes to it, you’ll see that beauty once again… I KNOW you’ve seen it before and you yearn to see it all again; to experience it all again. What you’re doing right now? This path you follow, fueled by pain and sorrow? It’s not going to end well for you. Eventually, the twisted trail on which you tread will make you realize everything you missed while in your all encompassing bubble of black.
She snaps her fingers again and Zephyr now stands in the middle of a sandy beach, smiling and taking in the fading sun, once again sinking into the horizon.
Zephyr Quinn: Beautiful, isn’t it? Happens every night in this very spot, right down the street from the boardwalk. This spot let’s you see the sunset, every night, uninterrupted and leaving you feeling secure… Secluded. It's beautiful to behold and even more so that it's reliable. Every night, the sun will set and every morning, it will rise again. I told you Mia, there’s a lot that you’re missing and I have yet to experience… Belle taught me that…
Zephyr pauses, almost as if to wipe her eyes. It was hard to tell in the fading sun.
Zephyr Quinn: There’s a world outside the ring Mia... There's a world that I have found outside of this ring that I finally found and you played a hand in ripping away from me. It’s something that as an in ring performer you should know not to mess with. You let Su into that portion of my life and I’ve learned SO much since waking up. At Chaos, I will have my revenge on you and when that bell rings to end the match, and I get up from whatever hell you’ve put me through and walk away, that will be the end of it. I don’t have to forgive you Mia… I’d like to in the future but right now?
Right now, you just have to pay.
She snaps her fingers one final time and the screen shuts out, leaving nothing but inky blackness.

Epilogue: A Letter to Belle
My Dearest,
I know that probably sounded a bit corny but I honestly couldn’t figure out what else to call you. You are my dearest everything Belle and I just wish I had told you so many extra times to make you believe that I never want what we have to end.
You have to know that I have no idea what Su told you.
I don’t care either.
None of it is true. I will always be your soft hearted defender, the misfit pariah you rescued from a troubled past. If we weren’t living it, I’d say it was almost too absurd to be true. Anything you need so we can get past this, time…
Seeing other people (please don’t choose that one)...
I don’t know where this will lead us Belle, but if there is one person on this Earth, this universe I’d like to find out with…
